“One major goal I had in mind for my birthing experience was to have as positive of an experience as I could. When considering whether to have a doula present or not, my husband and I questioned what many do and that was whether it was needed as many deliver their babies without one. After speaking to Nancy and addressing all our concerns, we decided to go for it. 

Throughout the whole process we felt comfortable and connected with Nancy. As supportive as my husband was, having Nancy also by our side just elevated how he was able to help me. In addition, all the knowledge and experience Nancy comes with helped calmed all the anxiety I had going into my delivery. If you are looking for a caring and supportive Doula, you will not regret hiring Nancy. This was my second pregnancy and being a single mother, and with COVID restrictions, I wanted to make sure I had someone I felt comfortable with during this very significant and important life event. 

From our first conversation over Zoom, I felt that Nancy was someone who would listen to my concerns and wishes, and I felt a good connection with her. We also met in person, and she really took the time to ask questions about my previous birthing experience, and address my concerns about this pregnancy. In the weeks leading up to my delivery, Nancy made a point to check in often to see how I was doing. She always remembered when I had appointments with my OB and would ask for updates afterwards. She would also provide resources about different procedures when I asked for them, never imposing her own opinions but always giving me the information and then the space to think about what I wanted. However, she would act as a sounding board for me and was always willing to discuss my options. 

For the actual labour and delivery, I could not have asked for a better Doula to support me. She remained calm, positive and encouraging throughout the entire birth, and made a point to stay for several hours afterwards to make sure baby and I were settled. Nancy was an integral part of my birthing experience, and I will never forget the important role she played on that very special day when I brought my son into the world.
